Since 1991, the rock band Murdock has been bringing the unforgettable sounds of the ’70s and ’80s to the stage with passion and energy. Led by frontman Steve G. Murdock, the band has thrilled audiences since 1995 with Martin Gerrard on guitar and since 2021 with Bb Flat on keyboards. The talented band members hail from Tyrol and Lower Austria and are not only college mates but also close childhood friends – all with professional musical training.

Murdock is not a cover band but a rock band with a mixed program that includes both original songs and impressive interpretations of world hits. The band brings classics from Deep Purple, Rainbow, Bon Jovi, Dio etc. to the stage and captivates the audience with their unique stage show and great stage designs.

With their distinctive sound, they have already released several albums, including Cry Inside. Their greatest success, Believe in Dreams, made it into the top 1000 of the Ö3 Millennium Charts, even ahead of Tina Turner.

Steve G. Murdock is the voice and driving force behind the band. Deeply influenced by the golden era of classic rock, he grew up with the sounds of bands like Deep Purple, Black Sabbath, Rainbow and Dio.

With his powerful voice, wide vocal range and charismatic stage presence, Steve embodies the spirit of classic rock. His performances combine passion, energy and authentic rock attitude, creating unforgettable live experiences.

As frontman of Murdock, he leads the band with the same intensity and dedication that defined the great rock legends of the 70s and 80s.

Martin Gerrard brings fire and finesse to the guitar. Known for his expressive playing style, he combines powerful shredding with melodic phrasing that gives every song its own character.

His passion for guitar-driven rock is obvious in every solo and riff he plays. On stage, Martin thrives on the energy of live performance, delivering both technical brilliance and pure rock emotion.

When he is not lighting up the stage with Murdock, he enjoys a perfectly mixed JD-Coke and the company of his beloved feral cats.

BASS | BACKING VOCALS

Dez Patric is a musician through and through. With roots in rock music dating back to the early 80s, he developed his musical identity across many genres including classical, jazz and rock.

Growing up surrounded by music from the late 60s and 70s, his passion for rock started early and has never faded. Over the decades, Dez has built a reputation in the Austrian music scene as a versatile live and studio musician.

His powerful bass lines and musical experience form the solid backbone of the Murdock sound.

Stevie Kay has been the rhythmic backbone of Murdock since 1993. With powerful grooves, precision and a deep understanding of classic rock, he drives the band’s unmistakable energy from behind the drum kit.

A graduate of the AIM Vienna, Stevie combines professional musical training with decades of live experience. His dynamic playing ranges from thunderous rock beats to subtle rhythmic details that perfectly support the band’s sound.

Behind the drums, Stevie is the engine that keeps Murdock moving.

PETER Bb PHLEBS

Peter Phleps “Mr. Bb Flat”

KEYBOARDS | BACKING VOCALS

Peter Phleps, also known as “Mr. Bb Flat”, joined the band in 2021 and added a new sonic dimension to the Murdock sound.

His keyboard playing blends classic rock organ, atmospheric synthesizers and expressive piano sounds, enriching both the band’s original songs and their powerful live interpretations.

With musical versatility and fresh energy, Peter expands the band’s sound while staying true to the spirit of classic rock.
